The IBC News Rating

Thank you starring Naga Chaitanya is one of the Tollywood films which has been eagerly awaited for a long time. This film marks the second collaboration of director Vikram K Kumar and hero Naga Chaitanya Akkineni after the super hit movie Manam. As this film has hit the screens today, let’s see how it is.

Story:

The plot revolves around Abhiram (Naga Chaitanya), who succeeds as a big businessman in the US by implementing an app. But in this journey of becoming a successful businessman, he loses his character and becomes self-arrogant. His ego-centric character makes him even lose the girl Priya (Rashi Khanna), who loves him the best. With this, he realizes and takes a tour to thank all those who stood by him during his tough times. The rest of the plot is how Abhiram goes back to his former self and meets the important persons involved in his life journey.

What’s Entertaining & What’s Boring:

Naga Chaitanya’s mesmerizing acting stands as a big highlight of the movie. BGM is good. Though Music director Thaman has come up with songs that flow with the theme, they are not very soothing. Dialogues are decent.

Except for these parts, everything goes down in the film. Heroes going on their soul-searching journey are seen plenty of times in movies like Premam and Naa autograph. So, the storyline is very predictable, and we feel every scene like we have seen it at some time. We really can’t understand how BVS Ravi’s very simple storyline attracted Dill Raju and Vikram K Kumar to do a film. Only a few scenes in the first half are worth watching and entertaining. The entire second half was nothing but a thorough disappointment and aimless story.

Performance of Cast & Crew:

Thank You completely belongs to Naga Chaitanya. He springs an eye feast with his excellent performance. The way he has showcased variations in his three different ages, looks, and performance is top-notch. However, this isn’t any new for him as his past movies 100%love and Premam also have this film’s shades. Rashi Khanna has done a decent job in the film. Malavika Nair and Avika Gor performed well, but their roles have little to offer. Sai Sushanth Reddy and Prakash Raj deliver noticeable performances.

Big thumbs up to production values. Noted cinematographer PC Sreeram does a brilliant job with his camera work in superbly showcasing the various time zones. Music is a big letdown, except for one song title song); no other song sounds appealing. Coming to the director, Vikram K Kumar, Thank you mark his weakest direction to date. He fails in making the movie engaging to the audience.

First Half & Second Half:

The first part forms the major portion of the film, and it was handled well with just a bit of lag. The second half’s first half-hour goes down with boring scenes, and then the movie pick-ups only during pre-climax and climax.

Impressive:

Naga Chaitanya Performance
Rashi Khanna Role
First Half
Film’s Time Length

Unimpressive:

Second Half
Routine Story
Lack of emotional connect

‘The IBC News’ take on Thank You:

Overall, from a Director like Vikram K Kumar, Thank you films are unexpected. Though the movie is said to be an emotional drama, it fails due to monotonous narration. It’s just Naga Chaitanya’s great performance, bit engaging first half, and PC Sreeram’s work that makes Thank you for a one-time watchable.
