The National Crime Records Bureau has shared a list of metro cities which is safest to live in. We came to know that Hyderabad is the third safest metro city in the country, while Kolkata and Pune being the first and second safest cities in the country. The data is based on the number of crimes that happen in the cities.
The data says that a total of 2,599 crimes were committed in Hyderabad for every million population in 2021. The NCRB also took the registration of cognizable offenses in cities with a population of two million into consideration.
With only 1,034 crimes, Kolkata has come on top of the list as the least crime-prone metro city. Despite the break out of violence here and there because of the political parties, Kolkata is safest to live in. Next comes Pune city, with 2,568 crimes.
The National capital Delhi has the highest crime rate in the country with 18,596 crimes per million population. The comes the cities Surat, Cochin, Ahmedabad, and Chennai.
Apart from Hyderabad, Bangalore from South is ranked fifth among the safest cities with 4,272 crimes per million population.
