Thackeray legacy is now being questioned in the state of Maharashtra with Shiv Sena being split into two groups. While one of the groups is being headed by Eknath Shinde, the other one is being headed by Uddhav Thackeray. The two groups are heading into a big fight and the latest is about the announcement of the Election Commission of India that neither of the Shiv Sena factions will be able to use the party’s ‘bow and arrow’ symbol until further notice.

It comes as a big blow to both the groups amidst a political turmoil in the state of Maharashtra. The surprising decision comes four months after Eknath Shinde took away the Shiv Sena numbers in the Maharashtra assembly to replace Uddhav Thackeray as Chief Minister. Apparently, the two groups will have to choose new names as per the interm order and they have no other choice.

The Election Commission of India will be allotting different symbols to both the groups. The same will be implemented in the upcoming bye-election in Mumbai’s Andheri East. At the same time, the ECI asked the rival groups to submit documentary proof on legislative and organisational support to back their claims.
