The board of the Indian Premier League (IPL) asked all ten teams to submit their player retention list by November 15, ahead of the upcoming mini-auction. According to the reports, the mini-auction will be held mostly in the third week of December.
There will be no cap on the number of players to be retained as this is a mini-auction and not a major auction. Meanwhile, every team will have additional Rs. 5 crores in their purse, bringing the total amount in their purse to Rs. 95 crores.
After the last year’s auction, Punjab Kings has the highest amount in their purse (Rs. 3.45 crores). Lucknow Super Giants used all its purse in the last auction. The remaining purse amount for the rest of the teams are as follows: Royal challengers Bangalore (Rs. 1.55 crore), Rajasthan Royals (Rs. 0.95 crore), Kolkata Knight Riders (Rs. 0.45 crore), Gujarat Titans (Rs. 0.15 crores), Mumbai Indians (Rs. 0.10 crore), Sunrisers Hyderabad (0.10 crore), Delhi Capitals (Rs. 0.10 crores) and Chennai Super Kings (Rs. 2. 95 crores).
The teams are not expected to make any big changes in their squads in mini-auctions. They may leave a few players who are not fitting into the squad and will retain most of the others.
