Bollywood’s star hero Akshay Kumar was stuck in a series of flops this year. None of his films worked well at the box office. Finally, he scored much-needed success with his recent film Ram Setu. It was released on October 25, during the Diwali festive season, and is getting a good response from the audience.
Ram Setu got the second-biggest opening year, after Ranbir Kapoor’s Brahmastra. As of now, the film collected a total of Rs. 34.45 crores. In spite of mixed reviews, Ram Setu is doing decent business at the ticket counters. The trade reports stated that it collected Rs. 7.80 crore on the third day of its release.
As the weekend starts today, we have to see if the collections will pick up for the next couple of days. Meanwhile, Ram Setu is also facing competition from Ajay Devgn’s latest film Thank God, which was released on the same day.
Directed by Abhishek Sharma, Ram Setu features Jacqueline Fernandez, Satya Dev and Nushrratt Bharucha in the other key roles. It is an action-adventure drama that revolves around the mythological bridge Ram Setu. Akshay Kumar played the role of an archaeologist in it. Ram Setu is produced jointly by Cape of Good Films, Amazon Prime Video, Abundantia Entertainment, and Lyca Productions.
