Except for a couple of films, 2022 has been a bumpy ride for Bollywood. Especially its box-office figures. Along with the trade pundits, many have cited that this year Bollywood has seen only peanut numbers regardless of the elephant size stars & studios. But it looks like Drishyam 2 has changed it.
‘Drishyam 2’ stars Ajay Devgn as Vijay Salgaonkar and also features Tabu, Akshaye Khanna, and Shriya Saran in pivotal roles. The film was released on November 18. Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the film took a thundering opening at the ticket window. The film has reported collected Rs. 15.38CR at the domestic box office on Day 1 and holds the record of having Rs. 10.65CR. in a single day. The numbers kept on increasing and as of reports, the film collected in double-digits on Tuesday.
On a whole, ‘Drishyam 2’ has gloriously collected Rs. 86.66CR and had 18.27% Hindi occupancy. It also surpassed the opening weekend collections of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Gangubai Kathiawadi and The Kashmir Files. At this rate, the film is expected to join RS. 100CR Club very soon.
