The IBC News Rating
The remake of Kannada superhit film ‘Love Mocktail’, Gurtunda Seethakalam starring Satya Dev, Tamannaah Bhatia and Megha Akash has hit the screens today. Directed by Nagashekar, let us see how the film is…
Story :
The plot revolves around a middle-aged guy(Dev) who rescues a woman and reminisces about his past love life to her by sharing with her all the heartbreaks he endured in his quest to find true love.
What’s Entertaining & What’s Boring:
The way the director dealt with the entire Dev life story appeals to everyone. The film is soulful and has enough situations that someone can relate too. Chemistry between the lead pair stands out. Visuals give you the eye-feast, and whole songs give you a pleasant experience.
For a film which had pleasant beautiful visuals and good technical values, the slow paced narration here and there is the only drawback. However, this point can be ignored as it is obvious for these types of love stories.
The film might seem to lag at times, but it definitely has enough content and engaging scenes to pull you back into narration.
Performance of Cast & Crew
Satyadev did complete justice to his character. He shines effortlessly in all the scenes right from the youngster to matured man. Meghana Akash is bubbly and shows good promise as an actress. Tamannaah is another big asset for this film. She played her role very well and made the second half more engaging with her character. Priyadarshi’s humorous dialogues are appealing.
The movie has high technical values. Editing could be a little better in the first half as there are few unnecessary scenes. The Dialogues are decent. Production values are best. Cinematography is good and the frames look colorful. Audience will appreciate the effort that has gone into setting up each and every frame. Music is exceptionally good and gives the film a pleasant feel.
First Half & Second Half:
First half connects to the urban teens and youth and remains true to its genre. Throughout the first-half, it’s about Dev looking for love. However, its second half goes in an emotional way and engages us well.
Impressive:
Performances
Screenplay
Second half
Unimpressive:
Slow-pace here and there
The IBC News take on Movie:
Overall, Gurtunda Seethakalam is not a story that has never been seen before. But it’s the actors performances and narration of the film that makes it affable. Give it a try for sure, if you are a fan of nostalgic love stories.
One-Line Review:
Pleasant tale of romance that strikes all the right notes.
