Chalo Delhi Protest: Haryana Police Fires Tear Gas Shells At Protestors

Haryana chalo delhi protest

On Tuesday, tensions escalated at the Shambhu border in Ambala as the Haryana Police clashed with a group of youths participating in the farmers’ ‘Chalo Delhi’ protest march. Despite warnings from the police to steer clear of barricades, many youths persisted and stood their ground, even attempting to dismantle the barriers.

The protest by farmers has caught the attention of the entire nation, and this has already become a National issue. The officials are yet to react but the police officials have been trying their best to bring down the protest to a standstill.

When some of the youths breached an iron barricade and attempted to hurl it off the Ghaggar River bridge, the situation intensified, leading the police to resort to firing multiple rounds of tear gas shells. In a further escalation, authorities deployed a drone to drop tear gas shells as well.

Earlier that morning, farmers had commenced their ‘Delhi Chalo’ march, aiming to amplify their demands following inconclusive talks with two Union ministers. Key among their demands is a legal assurance of Minimum Support Price (MSP) for crops.

The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) and the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha have jointly declared their intent to march to Delhi, intensifying pressure on the government to address their concerns.
