Popular Comedian Chris Rock is said to have declined an offer to host the Oscars next year. Reportedly, he took this decision after he was slapped by actor Will Smith during this year’s award ceremony back in March.
As per the reports, during a comedy set at the Arizona Financial Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona, on Sunday, Chris compared going back to the Oscars to returning to the scene of a crime.
For the unversed, during the live ceremony, Will Smith slapped Rock and it was because of the joke that the comedian cracked on Jada Pinkett Smith‘s hair loss condition. It was a shocking moment for all the audience there and in fact many thought it was scripted.
However, later Will Smith was condemned for his actions and lost his reputation. He has been underground ever since and has only made his social media appearance recently.
Meanwhile, speculations around Chris Rock rejecting hosting Oscars 2023 have arisen. Marking the same, Chris declined the offer and expressed having no desire to return to the Oscars in the near future.
