Versatile actor Dhanush scored a big hit in Tamil with his recent outing Thiruchitrambalam. According to the trade reports of Kollywood, it collected Rs. 70 crores in just 11 days and is still having a great run at the box office. The disastrous result of last week’s release, Liger, is also helping Thiruchitrambalam in continuing its good run.
The analysts stated that Thiruchitrambalam brought back family audiences to the theatres. Especially, audiences are loving the characters of Thiru and Shobana, played by Dhanush and Nithya Menen respectively.
It is also stated that Thiruchirambalam has also crossed the lifetime collections of Thalapathy Vijay’s Beast in Tamil Nadu. While the latter earned Rs. 65.45 in its full run, Thiruchitrambalam crossed Rs. 70 crores in just five days. It also happens to be the 7th highest grosser this year at the Tamil box office.
Directed by Mithran Jawahar, Thiruchitrambalam features Raashi Khanna and Priya Bhavani Shankar as the other female leads. Prakash Raj and Bharathiraja played pivotal roles in it.
