2009’s global blockbuster Avatar was re-released on September 23rd ahead of the release of its sequel, Avatar: Way of Water. The makers have remastered it in 4K and released it on a wide scale across the world.
As expected, Avatar is receiving a sensational response from the audience. According to the latest trade reports, it collected more than Rs. 244 crores at the global box office during its first weekend. It generated over $10 million in the USA and over $20 million internationally. With these collections, Avatar widened its lead as the biggest hit of all time with $2.85 billion worldwide.
The reception has been phenomenal in India as well. Audiences are praising the remastering of the film and are saying that it will be a new experience together to watch the film once again in theatres. This response gives a huge boost to Avatar: Way of Water.
Directed by James Cameron, Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana play the lead roles in the movie. They essay the characters, Jake Sully and Na’vi Neytiri. The sequel includes various other stars like Kate Winslet, Vin Diesel and Sigourney Weaver. Avatar: Way of Water will hit the screens worldwide on December 16.
