Kantara has now become officially the top grosser of Kannada cinema, surpassing ‘K.G.F. – Chapter 2’ records. Directed by Rishab Shetty, the film has already been celebrated all across the country for over 2 months now. Collection or Controversy, ‘Kantara’ always stayed on the trending list.
Even after a glorious run of 50 days in theatres and an OTT premiere, the film is still having a theatrical run across the nation. Today early figures reported that ‘Kantara’ has collected a whopping 306.32 crores nett (inclusive of all languages) in India which makes a colossal profit of 290.32 crores. ‘K.G.F. – Chapter 2’ has collected around 173 CR in its total runtime, which took ‘Kantara’ merely over a month. Being made with a budget of 16 CR, the film has seen an insane number of profits while KGF had the support of a huge star cast and a very big budget. ‘Kantara’ reiterates that the content is the king and stands as a symbol.
Recently, Due to copyright infringement, the much-reputed ‘Varaha Roopam’ song was removed from the film. The makers are about to initiate a discussion with the concerned parties.
