BJP is trending in the Telangana state currently, with multiple leaders of the party getting arrested for multiple reasons. Now, the latest we hear is that the police arrested Telangana BJP MLA T Raja Singh on Tuesday for making alleged derogatory remarks against the Prophet Muhammad.
After a case was registered against him for the same, a case was lodged against the BJP MLA after protests broke out on Monday night in Hyderabad. Apparently, Raja Singh released a video talking about the Prophet, and the cops arrested him under the Sections 153a (promoting enmity between different groups), 295 (injuring or defiling a place of worship with intent to insult the religion), and 505 (public mischief) of the Indian Penal Code.
“Raja Singh hurt the sentiments of our community, and we demand his immediate arrest,” said the protestors yesterday and the Police officials took the protesters into custody at the commissioner’s office in Basheer Bagh.
In a comedy video against the comedian Munawar Faruqui, he said he would burn down the set and the police also placed him under house arrest.
Raja Singh said Munawar Faruqui hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus and in this context, he also allegedly made derogatory remarks on the Prophet in the video.
