Rapper-Singer Yo Yo Honey Singh and Shalini Talwar have officially announced that they are parting ways. The duo got divorced after 21 years of marriage.
For the unversed, in the year,2021, Honey Singh’s wife Shalini approached the Tis Hazari Court in Delhi and filed a case of domestic violence against Honey Singh alongside a compensation of Rs. 20 crores.
During their 21 years of marriage life, Shalini said in her complaint in court that she had been physically assaulted and had also been cheated on. She further stated that Honey Singh and his family broke her mentally and emotionally to the extent that she almost started identifying herself as a “farm animal.”
They were in the middle of the legal battle regarding the same till September 8. On Thursday, September 8, Honey Singh and Shalini Talwar reached a settlement for alimony and maintenance during mediation proceedings in Delhi’s Saket court. As per the reports, Saket District Court in Delhi has finally approved their divorce plea. During the hearing, in the presence of judge Vinod Kumar, it is heard that Honey Singh gave a cheque of Rs 1 crore as alimony to Shalini Talwar in a sealed envelope.
