Ponniyin Selvan is the latest release in the country. The historic pan-Indian film, directed by Mani Ratnam released in multiple languages. Meanwhile, there are mixed reviews on the film that it could have been much better in impressing the audiences. However, we have come to know that the film made good numbers at the box office on the release day.
As per the trade pundits, the film’s first part is off to a fantastic start at the box office. The film has grossed ₹25.86 cr on Day 1 in the state. This has resulted in Ponniyin Selvan becoming the third biggest opener of the year. The film that released in other languages also seems to have done well. The numbers from the other languages will be reported soon.
The film stars an ensemble cast of Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R. Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Rahman and R. Parthiban. The music is composed by A. R. Rahman, with cinematography handled by Ravi Varman, editing done by A. Sreekar Prasad.
