Vijay Sethupathi and Madhavan played the lead roles in the super successful Tamil film titled Vikram Vedha. With the same title, the makers remade the film in Hindi. Pushkar Gayathri duo that directed the Tamil version made their debut in Bollywood. Hrithik Roshan reprised the role of Vijay Sethupathi while Saif Ali Khan reprised the role of Madhavan from the original. The film was released on Friday and we hear that the opening day number is huge.
The film clashed with Ponniyin Selvan, directed by Mani Ratnam but the trade reports reveal that the movie fared great at the box office. The trade pundits revealed that the film might touch Rs 10 crore on its opening day. It is a big number for the film, at the times of like these.
The buzz is that the film scored an amount of 10.58 Cr rupees on the release day. Considering the craze and star power that drives the film forward, the numbers are less, but in fact, the film did moderately well in all the A centers.
Since the Tamil film is already available on the OTT, there may be downfall in the reception from South. However, we have to see if the film picks up over the weekend.
