Ponniyin Selvan is one of the super hit films in the country right now. Although the film opened to negative reviews from everyone, in no time, the film gained a good buzz to become a big hit at the box office. Starring an ensemble cast of talented actors, the sensational film is directed by Mani Ratnam. Now, the film completed a run of four days at the box office and it has also successfully passed the Monday test. In four days, the film successfully collected an amount of over 240 Cr rupees globally.
During the first weekend of its release, the first part of Ponniyin Selvan crossed an amount of 200 Cr rupees gross globally. On Monday, the film mesmerized everyone to collect an amount of over 23 Cr rupees gross worldwide which shocked the trade big time.
‘Ponniyin Selvan’ is adapted from the fictional novel written by Kalki Krishnamurthy. It is Mani Ratnam’s dream project. The film will release in two parts. While the first part is now available in theatres, the second part is also expected to hit the screens next year.
Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Rai, Sarathkumar, Parthiban, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Vikram Prabhu, Prabhu, Nasser, and Rahman are also a part of the film. AR Rahman scored the film’s soundtrack.
