Team India go a huge blow ahead of the T20 World Cup. Star pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the tournament due to a back injury. The BCCI took this decision after assessing Bumrah’s recent medical reports. He is also out of the ongoing bilateral series against South Africa due to an injury.
After Ravindra Jadeja, Bumrah is India’s second important player who is going to miss the world cup. In Bumrah’s absence, India’s bowling attack looks bleak. It will be heavily reliant on the batting lineup now.
Bumrah recently returned to international cricket after recovering from an injury. He played the series against Australia. He complained of back pain ahead of the first match against South Africa in Thiruvananthapuram. After multiple scans, he was suggested to take a rest. Initially, he got ruled out of the series against South Africa. Now, he got ruled out of the world cup.
As of now the remaining fast bowlers in India’s lineup are Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Arshdeep Singh, Harshal Patel and all-rounder Hardik Pandya. Deepak Chahar and Mohammed Shami are in the reserves. One of them will be inducted into the primary squad now. Otherwise, BCCI may also consider taking Mohammed Siraj or Umesh Yadav as Bumrah’s replacement.
