‘Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1’, made by Mani Ratnam hit the theatres on September 30th. Although the film has been dubbed into various languages & released across the globe, only the original version, Tamizh version, remains to stand and keep an active booking & collections till date.
In the recent reports, it has been informed that the film collected around 1.23 CR INR from Germany in the last 10 days and this is one exceptional number for a non-regional film there. Looking all the gross numbers across the globe, the trade pundits have estimated that the film shall be eyeing on a whooping Rs. 450 CR score worldwide.
Although the film received mixed reviews from other languages, it finally pulled-off to gain good numbers and continue to maintain the track at the box-office. The team is currently engaged in the post-production works of the second part of the film and it is rumoured that the second part shall hit the screen in the February or March of next year. Touted to be ambitious project of Mani Ratnam, ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ has reached well across the globe.
