There is no stopping for Kantara at the box office. Since its release, this mystic thriller garnered unanimous positive response from the audience and went on to become a blockbuster. Two weeks after its Kannada release, the dubbed versions of Kantara hit the theatres. Even the dubbed versions got a good response from the audience.
As per the latest trade reports, Kantara has now collected a gross of Rs. 200 crores worldwide. It is now just a few crores away from breaching the KGF Chapter:1’s lifetime collection of Rs. 235 crores. If it surpasses KGF 1, it will become the second-highest-grosser in Kannada cinema.
As of now, Kantara collected Rs. 117 crores from Karnataka. It earned over Rs. 29.8 crores from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The film collected Rs. 3.3 crores and Rs. 3 crores from Tamil Nadu and Kerala respectively. The earnings in North India are around Rs. 29 crores.
The film collected over $2.21 million in overseas (Rs 18.20 crores). As there are no big releases in the next few days, we can expect Kantara to do well this week too. Kantara was written and directed by Rishab Shetty. He also played the lead role in the movie.
