Master filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s ‘Ponniyin Selvan Part 1’, which was released over a month ago, is still holding its grip over the box office at several locations across the globe. Although the reception was lukewarm, the amount being minted by the film is nothing but a wonder to everyone.

Even the response in overseas locations was very much beyond the expected and it earned close to Rs. 170 CR, making it a whole Rs. 500 CR gross worldwide.
Being made in two parts, the first part has managed not only to recover the investment but also made the film a very profitable venture. The second part is slated to release in the early half of 2023
