Deepika Padukone, who debuted with the “Baadshah” Shah Rukh Khan himself, commemorates her 15 Years of career in Hindi Cinema today. She has managed to bag a role beside almost all of the stalwarts of Bollywood, including Amitabh Bachchan & Irrfan Khan.
In the span of 15 years, she made a film with almost every star but one, Salman Khan. Right from the beginning, their collaboration of this pair seems to be doomed. Right after her debut in ‘Om Shanti Om’, Salman tried to cast her in his ‘Yuvvraaj’ but the role went to his then-girlfriend Katrina Kaif. She was also approached afterwards by other filmmakers for this collaboration, but the substantiality of her roles made her choose to opt-out.
Sooraj Barjatya’s ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ and Sajid Nadiadwala’s ‘Kick’ also went her way but things couldn’t work out. Again after almost a decade, the name of this duo was heard when Bhansali’s ‘Insha Allah’ was announced. It was reported that Bhansali shall be making a film with Salman but the news about Alia being cast came in late.
