Samantha starrer ‘Yashoda’ was released yesterday in a very grandeur of any other star celebrity release. Upon its release, the film received lukewarm reviews but the response seems to be very good with the ground-level audience.
With no competitive big releases, ‘Yashoda’ took a flying start at the box office. The numbers reported for every show were incredible and it is reported that the film collected Rs. 1.40 CR on an opening day, with a share of Rs. 80 Lakhs. The film seems to top the carts at the USA Box office too. It has recorded around $150K, a whopping number to be scored in the USA alone on day one. With good word of mouth, the film seems to be revived financially this weekend at the box office. According to the pundits, ‘Yashoda’ might end up being Samantha’s biggest opening & box – office record in her career. Although an official announcement is awaited by the makers on this too.
Directed by the Tamil duo filmmakers Hari – Harish, the film is produced by Sivalenka Krishna Prasad under ‘Sridevi Movies’ banner.
