One of the most anticipated upcoming films in South India is Indian 2 (Bharateeyudu 2 in Telugu). Directed by Shankar, this film is a sequel to the 1996 movie of the same name. Kamal Haasan will reprise his role as ‘Thatha’ in the second part as well.
Ever since it was announced, people are wondering whether Indian 2 will be a sequel or prequel to the first part. Now, we hear interesting news about it. In the first part, Thatha kills his corrupt son and leaves the country.
Apparently, he returns to India in the second part. Also, we get to see Thatha’s younger days in the movie. So, in a way, Indian 2 will showcase the incidents that happen before Indian and after Indian. Thus, it is going to be a mix of a sequel and a prequel. We have to see how Shankar handled the story back and forth.
Indian 2 is Kamal’s immediate film after Vikram and thus, there are heavy expectations around it. Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth and Rakul Preet Singh are playing other lead roles in the movie. The film is currently in the shooting stage and is slated for a 2023 release. Anirudh Ravichander is composing the music for it.
