Indian Premier League (IPL) is going to have a massive two-and-a-half-month window from next year. According to the reports, IPL got a 74 days window in ICC Future Tours Programme (FTP) for the cycle 2023-27. The BCCI has been planning to extend the window for IPL as 10 teams are included in the league this year and are expected to increase in the coming years.

Every year, IPL enjoys a 54-day window between the last week of March to the first week of June. It is heard that the BCCI also has plans of increasing the number of matches from 74 to 94.

Speaking with the PTI, BCCI secretary Jay Shah said that from the next FTP cycle, IPL will have an official two-and-a-half-month window so that all the top international cricketers can participate in the league. He also added that BCCI is holding discussions with the ICC and other major cricket boards across the world. Even Australia’s Big Bash League and England’s The Hundred Leagues will also get windows in the upcoming FTP.
