One of the popular leaders of the Indian National Congress, Ghulam Nabi Azad decided to quit his party. He announced his resignation earlier today. He submitted the resignation letter to Congress chief Sonia Gandhi. In this five-page letter, Azad explained what led him to leave the party.
Azad alleged that the mechanism of the party was completely destroyed once Rahul Gandhi got appointed as the Vice President in 2013. Azad said that Sonia Gandhi just remained a nominal head while Rahul Gandhi or his Personal Assistants or Security Guards take all the important decisions of the party.
He said that the ‘chosen one’ Rahul Gandhi is no less than a puppet. Due to the non-serious leader at the helm, Congress was forced to concede the political space available to them to BJP on the national level and to the regional parties on the state level, said Azad.
He said that it hurts him to revoke the 50-year relationship with the Congress Party. In his association with the Congress, Ghulab Nabi Azad worked as Jammu and Kashmir’s Chief Minister in the past and also worked as a Union Minister as well.
