Once again the employees’ strike is going to take place in a strong way in AP. Confirming the same, Andhra Pradesh Gram Panchayat employees have announced that they will go on an indefinite strike from October 2, if the government does not meet their demands.
Above all, CITU Panchayat Employees Union has sent notices to the PR Commissioner regarding the same. It is a strike notice that includes their 9 major demands.
Coming to the demands, the employees asked that their salary arrears have to be cleared immediately and also a minimum wage of Rs.20 thousand per month should be paid to the panchayat workers and green ambassadors. Also, they demanded an occupational health allowance of Rs.6 thousand per month for municipal workers.
They also mentioned retirement benefits and demanded to prevent harassment by Sarpanch and officials. They further asked to provide job security. Also, the gram panchayat employees stated that Rs.10 lakhs should be given to workers who have died during work and Rs.5 lakhs should be given to normal deaths along with houses and employment to family members.
