Bangalore has been suffering from severe rain-falls for the past few days. Continuing the same, on September 6, more rain during an exceptionally-rainy monsoon season resulted in power outages, traffic jams, and flooded properties in several areas of Bengaluru.
However, despite these worst situations, there seems to be no respite for Bengaluru this week. According to the weather office, Karnataka will witness heavy to very heavy pre-monsoon showers throughout this week. As per the India Meteorological Department Bengaluru, there is prediction for heavy rain, thunderstorms and lightning in Bengaluru Urban district until September 9.
Since the start of this rainy season on June, Bangalore has experienced 162% more rainfall than usual. This continuous downpour is causing adverse effects in Bangalore. Meanwhile, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai announced two days back that a decision had been made to allocate ₹300 crore to cope with the current situation and the preservation of basic infrastructure in Bangalore due to the losses caused by severe rains.
