Legendary actor of Telugu cinema, Krishnam Raju is no more. He passed away at 03.25 AM on Sunday. He was suffering from health issues for the last few months. He was admitted to a private hospital in Hyderabad last night as his health condition became critical. Within a few hours, he breathed his last. He was 82.
Krishnam Raju is considered one of the iconic actors in Telugu cinema during the 70s and 80s. Due to his angry-young man roles, he got the tag ‘Rebel Star’. Krishnam Raju was born on 20 January 1940 in Mogalthuru village of the West Godavari district.
Krishnam Raju made his entry into films with the 1966 release Chilaka Gorinka. He won a Nandi Award for his performance in that film. In total, Krishnam Raju won five Filmfare Awards and three Nandi Awards. Jeevana Tharangalu, Bhakta Kannappa, Katakatala Rudraiah, Rangoon Rowdy, Bobbili Brahmanna, Tandra Paparayudu, Antima Theerpu and Palnati Pourusham are some of the notable works of Krishnam Raju.
He was last seen in the 2022 release, Radhe Shyam. He is the uncle of Young Rebel Star Prabhas. He is survived by his wife and three daughters.
It is heard that the final rites will be performed tomorrow. Meanwhile, the entire Telugu film industry and fans are shocked by Krishnam Raju’s demise and are paying their condolences to his family.
