In Maharashtra, Ganesh Immersion has taken place grandly on September 10th, Saturday. Unfortunately, it is said that at least 20 people died in various incidents related to this Ganesh immersion across state.
Confirming the same, Maharastra police today said, “At least 20 people lost their lives in various incidents related to Ganpati immersion. 14 people died by drowning,”.
The ten days Ganesh festival, which had started on August 31, ended on Friday.
A woman has died with a tree falling on her during ‘Aart’’ at the time of immersion while another person lost his life after falling on cemented surface. Also, almost 12 people sustained injuries due to electric shock during the immersion procession.
Meanwhile In Haryana, four boys lost their lives during the Ganeshidol immersions in the Mahendragarh region.
Talking about the incident, the police said, “Around 20-22 people had gone to a canal near village Jhagadoli in Mahendragarh for Ganesh idol immersion.During which many of them drowned in the river. As of now, four boys have losttheir lives and four have been rescued safely,”.
Even in Uttar Pradesh, two children drowned while one succumbed in the hospital in Unnao during immersion.
