Karthi’s Telugu market has only become strong over the years. Regardless of the result, the film manages to cover the investments and it has become rare feet to see a Karthi film in losses. His latest film ‘Sardar’ was released on 21 October.
Directed by P.S. Mithran, the film has gained a good reception from both critics and the general audience. Needless to say, good word of mouth is enough for a film to get a consistent collection. The recent blockbuster ‘Kantara’ is a good example. The makers have given a promotional interview for its Telugu release. In the same way, Karhti manages to promote ‘Sardar’ well and it paid off too. Although the film had a decent booking for its opening show, with good reviews the film went on to have a rapid booking and the day-one numbers were good.
According to the trade pundits, the film has garnered around Rs. 15 CR+ on day one. The official figures are awaited. Mithran managed to give an interesting screenplay with some unexpected twists. The background score by Sam CS is very commendable. This is Karthi’s second big release this year.
