When it comes to communication, WhatsApp is the most popular & widely used instant communication application, owned by Meta. Regardless of many privacy & security issues raised over WhatsApp, the migration & confrontation seems to be less as people are very accustomed to using it daily!
Currently, WhatsApp users in India are currently unable to send and receive messages. We can confirm that the outage is affecting both personal chats as well as group chats. Although initially, it was possible to communicate in personal chat, now even this seems to be impossible along with WhatsApp groups. According to tech experts, the Meta servers might have been facing a partial disruption, which resulted in WhatsApp being down. Outage detection website ‘DownDetector’ has confirmed the same and the affected regions are based on the website’s heat map including major cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Lucknow. Although we extend our doubt of usage problem to everyone.
WhatsApp is yet to comment on this officially, though the users are flooding Twitter & other social media platforms with ‘#WhatsAppDown’ memes.
