The year 2023 is likely to bring new lease of life for the cinephiles as it is going to bring some crazy projects in the cinema. There are some big South Indian films slated to hit cinemas for Pongal next year. Box-office will witness the big clash of the 2023 and that is between Rebel Star Prabhas starrer historical action drama Adipurush and Vijay starrer action entertainer Vaarasudu.
While Om Raut is making Adipurush, Vamsi Paidipally is directing Varasudu (Varisu in Tamil) and Dil Raju is bankrolling it under SVC Cinemas banner. Rashmika Mandanna is the leading lady in Varisu and the expectations are very high on this bilingual project. Adipurush is mythological film based on epic Ramayana. With Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh, the film has Kriti Sanon playing the role of Janaki.
Both Prabhas and Vijay are huge stars in South and fans are waiting for their movies since a long time. The Diwali posters of Varasudu and Adipurush clarified that both the films would light cinemas on 12th January, 2023 to coincide with Pongal season. So, it is expected to be a big clash at the box-office between the big stars of South Film Industry.
On other hand, two other mass entertainers Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya and Balakrishna starrer Veera Simha Reddy are also slated for Sankranthi-2023 release.
