After a big debacle of ‘Samrat Prithviraj’, Akshay Kumar has banked everything on ‘Ram Setu’, which follows an archaeologist who is investigating the nature of Ram Setu, also known as Adam’s Bridge. ‘Ram Setu’ was theatrically released on 25 October 2022 during Diwali festivities
Needless to say, the film garnered very poor reviews, where most of them cited & criticised it to be a chain of propaganda WhatsApp forwards. Despite such strong criticism, the film has managed to have a decent hold at the box office. According to the reports, the movie managed to score Rs 8.25 CR on Thursday, making the total around Rs 34.25CR for a three-day run.
Surprising the trade pundits, the film has gained the spot of 8th place, in the list of highest collections for the year 2022 Hindi cinema. As surprise feet, the film has crossed Aamir Khan’s ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, which earned around Rs. 27 CR which was released on the eve of Raksha Bandhan for the weekend.
Going by the trend, the trade pundits expect it to make it to the top 5 by the end of it’s run.
