The final phase of Gujarat state elections has come to an end today and many noted politicians have casted their vote in various places including PM Narendra Modi in Ahmedabad and UP Governor Anandi Ben Patel. Soon after the voting is finished, the exit polls conducted by various organisations have come out.
According to majority of the exit polls, Bharatiya Janata Party is going to claim power in Narendra Modi and Amit Shah’s home state Gujarat for seventh consecutive time. The leaders of saffron party attribute the victory to growing charisma of Modi and went into celebratory mood. When in comes to Himachal Pradesh, where the voting took place in 68 assembly constituencies, exit polls predict a close fight between Congress and BJP.
While Republic TV- P Marq, News X, Out of the box and Times Now-ETG predicted that BJP will be in lead, Peoples Pulse Survey indicates a marginal victory for Congress. The final counting will take place on 8th December. In both the states, Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party has managed to leave its mark. AAP may win 3-7 seats in Gujarat and 2-5 in Himachal Pradesh. Definitely, Aam Aadmi Party seems to have caused some damage to Congress in Gujarat.
