Defending Champions France is just a step away from winning another FIFA World Cup. It defeated Morocco in the semifinals last night and qualified for the final. It will now take on Argentina in the final which will be held on December 18. Morocco, which has been phenomenal throughout the tournament, had to end its run in the semis.
In the second semifinal held at Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor, Qatar, France defeated Morocco by 2-0. Right into the five minutes of the match, Theo Hernandez scored a goal and gave an early advantage to his team. Even after that, France created multiple chances and dominated the opponents in the game.
In the second half, Morocco had chances of making an equalizer but unfortunately, it couldn’t. In the 79th minute, Randal Kolo Muani scored another goal and almost confirmed France’s berth in the final. Until the end of the game, Morocco fought hard but couldn’t score a goal.
Even though Morocco lost the game, it impressed everyone’s hearts with this amazing journey in the tournament. The 2022 World Cup will be historic for Morocco Football. It will now fight for third place in the playoff against Croatia, which will be held on December 17.
