Ilayaraja and Vijayendra Prasad nominated for Rajya Sabha

The Union Government of India, on Wednesday, took a key decision to honour the noted personalities of South India. The BJP-led NDA government nominated 4 people from South India for Rajya Sabha – Legendary musician Ilayaraja, Popular Writer Vijayendra Prasad, Sprinter PT Usha and social activist Veerendra Heggade.

Remembering their contributions in respective fields, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has dropped a series of tweets and congratulated for being nominated to Rajya Sabha. He said that ‘they will certainly enrich parliamentary proceedings’. When it comes to films, Ilayaraja and Vijayendra Prasad showcased India’s culture with their work and made a mark at international platforms.

While Vijayendra Prasad wrote for Baahubali, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Manikarnika and RRR, music legend Ilayaraja has delivered several super hit albums in his 45+ years of journey.
