Indian cricketer Jasprit Bumrah breaks the world record!

Indian Cricketer Jasprit Bumrah who stands at number 10 in the batters on the strike list is now the stand-in captain for the ongoing Test match in Edgbaston because of the absence of regular skipper Rohit Sharma, who went on leave after testing positive for Covid – 19.

Bumrah has now made it into the news after creating a world record for scoring the most runs in an over in Test cricket. With England’s veteran pacer Stuart Broad who had picked up 550 wickets in the longest format of the game at the other end, Bumrah created this rare feat.

Bumrah smashed the first ball of the over towards fine-leg and scored a boundary followed by a short one that went over India’s skipper as well as Sam Billings’ head.

A top-edge gave Bumrah six runs and the next three deliveries were smashed to the boundaries by Bumrah. He has finished the over by taking a quick single.

Brian Lara had held the previous record of scoring most runs in an over in the longest format of the game with 28 runs and Bumrah now took over that position with ease.
