NASA is back with another achievement. NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope has captured the sharpest, deepest infrared image of the distant universe so far.

And now, for the first time, full-color images and spectroscopic info, which discloses amazing cosmic features which have remained cagey till now, are finally released today. In fact, a new era in astronomy has started with the world having the first look at the full capabilities of the NASA James Webb Space Telescope.

Sharing these, President Joe Biden has released the galaxy cluster SMACS 0723 images, AKA Webb’s First Deep Field, at the event held at the White House on Monday, July 11.

These images reveal a patch of sky that is just grain size, held in our arm’s length, and covers thousands of galaxies in a small sliver of a big universe.

Talking at this event, NASA Administrator Bill Nelson, said, “Today, we present humanity with a groundbreaking new view of the cosmos from the James Webb Space Telescope – a view the world has never seen before,”

“These first images and spectra from Webb are a huge celebration of the international collaboration that made this ambitious mission possible,” says Josef Aschbacher, ESA Director-General.
