Sai Pallavi is back with yet another female-oriented film, titled Gargi. Gautham Ramachandran is the film’s director, and the project was released today in theatres. The trailer already raised curiosity around the film. Now, check out the review of the film here!

Story:

Gargi (Sai Pallavi) works as a teacher, and she is also planning to get married soon. Her father works as a security guard and goes missing one day. Suddenly, he is framed in the rape case of a young girl. The cops take him into custody and put him in an undisclosed location. Gargi tries to meet her father, but the cops deny her permission. Then, Gargi steps forward to initiate a battle for justice. What did she do? Is her father innocent? What happens in the end? Forms the plot of Gargi.

What’s Entertaining & What’s Boring:

The film is based on a real incident, and the way the director played with the emotions in the film is impressive. There is a subtle yet interesting message in the film: the need of the hour. The film throws many questions about the country’s law and justice system. The best and most entertaining part of the film is the courtroom drama. The portrayal of some sensitive emotions is good. The film also talks about the ill-treatment of media and some police officials. The director presented the reality most acceptably.

Despite the film having a good message and running well on emotion, the film lacks proper commercial elements. The screenplay gives us the feeling of slowness. The director failed to narrate the film engagingly in the second half. The curiosity levels fall in some scenes, which should have been avoided.

Performance of Cast & Crew:

Sai Pallavi’s performance is the breathing element of the film. Her screen presence, dialogue delivery, portrayal of emotions, and appearance is the best. She carried the film on her shoulders. There are multiple sequences in which Sai Pallavi gave her best for the film. The actor who played Pallavi’s father is also good. Most of the cast is new to the Telugu audience, but they delivered the best and made their presence felt.

The writing of the film is impressive. The conversations are natural. The visuals are attractive. The camera work needs a special mention. The background score is intense at times. The production values of the film are good. The technical team gave its best to the film.

First Half and Second Half:

The film’s first half is highly impressive with the introduction of Sai Pallavi and her world. The narration is also good in the first half compared to the second half. The conflict has been established well, and the interval point is placed well. The second half is a little dull compared to the movie’s first half. Overall, the film’s duration is less and helps the audience get engaged with the flow.

Unimpressive:
