MP Bus Plunged In To River Narmada: 15 Rescued, 13 Dead

Nearly 13 people lost their lives when the Maharashtra government bus got into river Narmada in Madhya Pradesh today. Among 28 people, 15 people have been rescued, while 13 are dead.

A Maharashtra government bus which started from Indore around 7:30 am and was on the way to Pune skidded off a slippery road and fell into the Narmada river. The bus was said to have broken the bridge railing in Khalghat area of Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar district on the Agra-Mumbai Highway.

“The rescue operations rushed to the spot within 15 minutes of the accident”, officials informed.

Sharing this, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan took to his twitter and wrote, “The district administration team is present at the accident site. The bus has been removed. I am in constant touch with Khargone, Dhar district administration. Instructions have been given to make arrangements for proper treatment of the injured,”.

“The bus tragedy in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh is saddening. My thoughts are with those who have lost their loved ones. Rescue work is underway and local authorities are providing all possible assistance to those affected,” the PM Modi tweeted.
