Modi And President Murumu Pays Tribute To Martyrs Died In Kargil War

India Today, 26th July, is celebrating 23 years of its historic win against Pakistan in the Kargil War of 1999. Saluting the sacrifices of the fallen heroes, this day is called Kargil Vijay Diwas or Kargil Victory Day.

Marking this 23rd Kargil Vijay Diwas, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Murumu paid tributes to Indian soldiers who lost their lives during the Kargil War in 1999.

President Droupadi Murmu took to twitter and wrote, “I bow to all the brave soldiers who laid down their lives to protect Mother India. All the countrymen will always be indebted to him and his family members. Jai Hind!”

On the other hand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also paid his tribute through twitter by calling the days as “symbol of pride and glory” and by saluting the soldiers, mentioning “who achieve the height of valour in the defence of the motherland”.

For the unversed, on this day (July 26, 1999), Our Indian Army fought and successfully removed Pakistani forces who were illegally occupying a hilltop at the LoC at Kargil, Ladakh.
