Mass MahaRaja Ravi Teja’s latest action thriller, Ramarao On Duty, has hit the screens today. Helmed by Sarath Mandava, Venu Thottempudi made a comeback with this film. Let us see whether this film is able to amuse audiences in theatres or not.
Story :
The plot revolves in the backdrop of the 1995 Chittoor district. It Portrays the story of an honest sub collector who fights against the red sandalwood mafia. RamaRao (Ravi Teja), appointed as sub collector, takes up the case of missing poor people from different villages. In this process he confronts the local police officer Jammi Murali ( Tottempudi Venu) and his SP. How Ramarao cracks the case, fighting against all the odd situations, forms the crux.
What’s Entertaining & What’s Boring:
Despite the same old story and narration, RamaRao On Duty has a good serious theme and some notable performances. The entire pre-climax part is engaging. Except this, there is nothing positive about the film.
Director Sarath Madhava, failed totally in narrating the story in an engaging way . This film story is something we have been seeing for years on the large screen. Neither of the halves will engage the audience thoroughly. The editing could have been crisp in the first half. The film also runs out of ideas and repeated scenes in the second half makes the audience more annoyed than engaging.
Performance of Cast & Crew :
Ravi Teja is the only noted character in the film. Though he performed his role with ease his energetic performance went missing. Divyasha Kaushik is okay in her role. Though Venu’s performance is good, he doesn’t get a meaty role . His track fails to create any impact.
The production values stand as the biggest positive of the film. Camera work is up to the mark and editing could have been a lot better.
First Half & Second Half:
First Half has nothing but a path to the second Half. First half goes with Ramarao getting married to another girl than his original love. And also getting some leads pointing to the sandalwood mafia through investigation.
The Second half deals with how Ramarao takes on the culprits. It’s only the pre-climax part that will engage the audience. However, as the plot is pencil-thin, we feel bored when scenes repeat with the hero and villain routine revenge scenes.
Impressive:
Ravi Teja Mass Avatar
Pre-Climax
Unimpressive:
Predictable Storyline
Boring narration
Dull First-half
‘The IBC News’ take on Rama Rao On Duty:
Rama Rao On Duty has nothing new to offer. It’s just the Ravi Teja performance, blended with some action and investigation episodes that makes you engaged to some extent.
