Indian Women’s Cricket Team created history last night. Harmanpreet Kaur and co. won a silver medal in the Common Wealth Games 2022. This is the first time in history that women’s cricket is included in the CWG and Team India managed to achieve big right in its inaugural season.
India lost to Australia in the final by mere nine runs. If a strong partnership was built in the chase, India would have clinched the gold medal. In fact, India lost only two matches in the CWG, and both of them are against Australia.
Keeping aside the loss in the final, Team India showed tough grit throughout the tournament. After a series of underwhelming performances and internal conflicts in the recent past, our women in blue crossed all the odds with great intent and gave their best in the CWG. As a result, they became the silver medalists right in their maiden appearance at the Common Wealth Games. This achievement will boost the confidence of Team India and help them perform well in the upcoming tournaments.
