Recently, Munugode’s MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy resigned from his position and also left his party, Congress. The speaker accepted his resignation as well. The by-elections of this constituency will be most likely held in November along with Himachal Pradesh’s Assembly elections. Meanwhile, the political analysts of the state are predicting it to be the semi-finals for the Legislative Assembly elections that will be held next year.
These by-polls will be crucial for the ruling party TRS and its chief K.Chandrasekhar Rao. After losing to the BJP in Dubbaka and Huzurabad, KCR will be eyeing to get a win in Munugode. If TRS loses these by-polls, then it will affect its results in the upcoming general elections.
Munugode proved to be a fortress for the congress party for many years. But as it’s MLA Rajagopal Reddy left the party now, we have to see if the people choose him or the congress party. It is a golden chance for TPCC chief Revanth Reddy to prove his mettle. If he manages to defeat Rajagopal, then it will be a huge booster for his party.
BJP successfully managed to win the by-polls of Dubbaka and Huzurabad in the recent past. Now, with Rajagopal under its hut, the party will be looking forward to sealing Munugode as well and becoming a huge threat to the TRS. Thus, Munugode by-elections prove to be the semi-finals for next general elections in Telangana.
