British batter Will Smeed created history in The Hundred League. He became the first batter to score a century in the history of The Hundred. Smeed, who represents Birmingham Phoenix, smashed 101 off 50 balls against Southern Brave. His ton helped Birmingham in scoring 176/4 in 100 balls. Southern Brave got all-out for 123 runs and lost the match by 53 runs.

Will Smeed, who came into bat as an opener, smacked the opponent bowlers right from the beginning. He got good support from the rest of the Birmingham batters like Benjamin, Moeen Ali and Livingstone. Out of 100 balls, Smeed batted 50 balls and scored a century. He hit 8 fours and 6 sixes in his innings.

Southern Brave rattled while chasing this big total. Birmingham bowlers Henry Brookes (5/25) and Kane Richardson (3/19) took eight wickets collectively and destroyed the batting lineup of the opponents. As a result, Southern Brave got all-out for just 123 runs.

It took the second season to witness a hundred in The Hundred league. We have to see if any other batter joins this elite club this season.
