Indian badminton player PV Sindhu has won the gold and fulfilled her long-cherished dream. At the Commonwealth Games, Sindhu won Glasgow 2014 bronze, Gold Coast 2018 silver and Birmingham 2022 gold. However,to win the gold, it took her three attempts, 13 years of toil, and many sacrifices for this Olympic medalist to claim the top prize at the multi-sport event.
Meanwhile, today the player shared the pain she went through during the game and wrote an interesting letter on her Twitter handle.
PV Sindhu took to her social media account and wrote,” While I am on the high of winning a gold medal at the CWG for India, unfortunately I have to pull out of the world championships. I felt pain and there was an injury scare at the quarter finals of the CWG, but with the help of my coach, physio and trainer, I decided to push as far as I could.”
Also explaining the condition now, the champion wrote, “The pain was unbearable during and post the finals. Hence I rushed for an MRI and soon as I got back to Hyderabad. The doctors confirmed a stress fracture on my left foot and recommended rest for a few weeks. I should be back to training in a few weeks”.
