Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy made a sensational announcement this morning. He stated that he is banning the use of plastic flexis and banners from now on. He asked everyone to use cloth-made banners from now on.

Jagan announced this rule this morning at the Mega Beach Cleaning Drive held in Vizag. He said that this will be the first step toward making AP a plastic-free state. He asked everyone to use cloth-made banners even though they are expensive. He said that Tirumala has become a plastic-free zone now and he is planning to implement the same strategy all over the state.

Meanwhile, the mega beach cleaning drive became a huge success. Under this initiative, plastic waste is collected from the RK beach to the Bheemili Beach stretch, which is around 28 km in length. Around 21000 volunteers have participated in this programme. CM Jagan announced that around 76000 tonnes of plastic waste has been removed through this initiative.
