Nilambur and Thrissur are first Indian Cities to join UNESCO

The beautiful cities, Nilambur and Thrissur in Kerala state have joined the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities. The UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities is an international policy-oriented network providing the path for the progress and development of other cities by sharing innovations at a global platform.

As per the reports revealed, a total of 77 cities from 44 countries have joined the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities. The cities included in the list can benefit hugely from the exchange of ideas for development with other cities.

While Thrissur is the cultural capital of Kerala, known for some famous academic and research institutions, Nilambur is a major ecotourism destination in Kerala with a mix of urban and rural populations.

The other global cities in this list include Beijing, Shanghai, Hamburg, Athens, Incheon, Bristol, and Dublin.

With the new announcement, we may expect that the Kerala tourism will be improved and more tourists will flock to the state now. Kerala is already known for tourism and with the latest news, it is just icing on the cake.
