In view of growing pollution issue in our capital, New Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal led Aam Aadmi Party government is taking all necessary steps to curb the problem and increase the air quality. In last few years, the government implemented many steps to control the pollution in City and make it a better livable place.
On Wednesday, Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai said that the production, sale and use of firecrackers will be completely banned till the end of this of this year. The restriction will be in effect till 1st January, 2023. This move coming ahead of Diwali festival has attracted everyone attention.
Also, government has considered this decision to control the pollution source during winters. Delhi, with a population of 20 million, is now the most polluted city in the world and air quality falls low between December and January due to air traps dust, vehicle pollution, burning crop remains in nearby agriculture lands. Adding to his announcement, Environment Minister also said that there will be a ban on online sale and delivery of firecrackers during this season.
